Overview
This wild camping safari covers the inner Okavango delta area and shows our clients the hidden germ that is the Okavango delta through land and water based activities. We will transverse through the narrow channels of the inner delta and water bodies of the Moremi game reserve area. We will be camping out in the wilderness without any boundaries. This trip is fully catered for and non-participatory and offers the best opportunities for game viewing and memorable photo shots.
Client arrives in Maun and welcomed by our company representative at the airport and transferred to an accommodation facility where they can rest and refresh from their long journey and prepare for the following day’s journey.
Early morning, the guide picks clients up at a lodge or hotel or the airport in Maun. Our trip will start around 0730hrs by speedboat to Boro settlement inside the buffalo fence for an hour. If it’s the dry season, clients will be driven by a 4*4 vehicle to Ditshiping where they will meet polers responsible for their meandering trip along the water channels. They will offer clients unforgettable memories. As the indigenous inhabitants of the area, the polers have vast knowledge of their area and will take clients on a memorable journey deep into the channels of the Okavango. A traditional dugout canoe will afford clients the peace and tranquility of the delta. They will be a team from our tour on an island preparing lunch. After lunch, clients refresh up before the guide takes them on an afternoon game viewing activity called a nature walk. This activity affords clients the opportunity to see more game and learn about the Okavango delta, its vegetation and the indigenous tribes living there. For super, clients return to camp and in the evening share stories of the day around the campfire.
Clients will spend the whole day deep inside the islands of the Okavango delta examining the area by a traditional dugout canoe (mokoro).Other activities covered here will be game walks and guided bush walks with an experienced guide on northern Botswana’s islands.
Waking up and greeting each other, a light breakfast will be waiting for clients. After the breakfast, clients go on their first game viewing exercise which would either be a mokoro excursion or a nature walk. After the activity, clients return to camp and have a shower and served brunch afterwards. After the break, clients will embark on a second game viewing exercise. After the exercise; clients will enjoy delicious meals prepared over the campfire and share experiences of the day around the fire before lazing away in their tents.
Clients will enjoy a last mokoro trail and a bush walk in anticipation of going back to Maun. Lunch will be had by the riverbank and before sunset the trip returns to Maun for an overnight in a comfortable lodge with amenities.
Guide picks up clients early in the morning where they spent the night in Maun. The guide will be responsible for the comfortable stay of the clients and their game viewing needs. The guide is well versed and knows the wilderness and will ensure clients enjoy the next days. An open sided 4*4 vehicle will be used to drive the clients to Moremi game reserve where activities will include game drives in the flood plains, lagoons, pools, pans and the other beautiful scenery. Terrains make the journey wonderful. Clients will have a chance to enjoy a picnic lunch and towards the evening clients will return to camp and take a bush shower to cool off. Experiences and sightings of the day will be discussed around the camp fire after a great dinner and go to sleep.
Clients awake with a quick breakfast permitting them to go on an early morning game drive as this is the time at which African big cats are on the prowl. After the game drive clients return to camp where they get the opportunity to spruce up with a superb bush shower. The tour’s chef will prepare lunch and clients leave for another game drive and photograph great sightings. .Moremi offers one of the most untouched environments beaming with wildlife and greater vegetation. In the evening clients have supper and enjoy stories of the day and animal behavior around the bush fire and a remarkable experience.
Furthermore, again you are gotten up in the early morning with a warm greeting and have a quick breakfast nibble and then go on an early morning game drive. Clients spend the whole day in Moremi on an extended game drive and later in the evening return back to Maun with lots of memories and images. Clients will be accommodated in a decent midrange stop with en-suite rooms.
Clients enjoy a great breakfast, recollect themselves and depart.
